Your Privacy

I (Wade Edwell) respect your wishes for privacy. In choosing to join my group virtual studio you understand and acknowledge that discussions between yourself and me may be privy to others in the studio at the time. It is your responsibility to inform me directly if you wish certain matters to remain private. I agree not to use your image for publication without your prior approval. Any personal information you supply to me will not be forwarded onto any third parties without your prior approval.

Culture at Proper Pilates

I firmly believe in building and maintaining a strong culture that is supportive, fun to be around, inclusive and respectful. I want to share in laughs and smiles, and help each and every client along the journey of progress. I believe in seeing the funny side in our flaws as well as the opportunities they provide us, so that we gain power and control of our body, spirit and life. I want you to be OK with taking time, making mistakes, and with things sometimes being hard and uncomfortable. This is what change entails. Remember that good practice and health requires commitment and consistency- not talent and flair- so with patience, some sweat, and dedication, we can all succeed.

General Terms and Conditions

  • Private consulation charges are not transacted until the date of the scheduled session. If a cancellation is made within 24 hours of the appointment full charges for the session will be debited/charged

  • I reserve the right to refuse service to persons who I feel do not fit with PP culture and who I also feel I won't be a good service fit for

  • I reserve the right to alter my schedule and make session cancellations as required

  • If no one is in attendance at the final 45min mark of an open studio session I will close up. For sessions that run an hour long this means you need to arrive in the first 15mins. For Tuesday and Thursday mornings sessions which run for 2 hours, it means you must arrive by a quarter past the second hour

  • Please expect prices to increase over time in accordance with fair wage growth practice

  • Prices listed on this website are in Australian Dollars unless otherwise noted

  • I will be offline at times each year for holiday leave. During this time no open studio membership fees will be deducted

  • Open Studio membership fees are not reduced for weeks where a public holiday falls despite the week running a day (etc) short

  • Infrequently I need to travel for work/training events and it means I have to cancel some open studio sessions or a day of work. Further, I believe that it’s fair workplace practice that people should be allowed to take sick leave when necessary and still feel they are safe in receiving a wage. There may be times where I cancel a day as I’m travelling or I am sick and require time off from running sessions. In these instances I do not offer a refund for days missed, however:

    • Of course I will always try my absolute best to keep disruptions to a minimum, but I believe these practices are fair and in accordance with the kinds of supportive policies in place in Australian workplaces and in legislation supporting workers

    • Clients will be notified early morning by group email on days that I require off due to illness. Days off required due to travel/workshops are noted as No Sessions in the weekly timetables available on the Open Studio Schedule page

Open Studio Memberships

  • Attendance is simple- there’s no bookings for sessions- clients can turn up when they like during the hours that I run open studio, and therefore no penalties for changing times, no shows, etc. This means you can workout with me as many times as you like each and every week, or undertake observation if you have free time but don’t want to exercise

  • I charge you for membership at the beginning of each week (Monday). When you join we’ll vault a payment method (CC or debit) and it’s your responsibility to ensure the correct funds are available for transaction. You are liable for any charges incurred for a default due to insufficient funds

  • Your membership can be suspended as needed, so you won’t get billed for when you are away from the studio, however I don’t work with clients who require more than 6 weeks off training in their year. Suspensions are offered in weekly blocks. Simply let me know via an email that you wish to take time off. Please ensure you let me know prior to the billing date affecting your requested period of suspension (by the Sunday before). If you only require a couple of days off you’ll still be charged your weekly membership but are welcome to take unused sessions at a future date

  • You can cancel your membership at any time. No refunds available if you cancel during a working week you’ve paid for. To avoid this please contact me before a new week of training begins to avoid being charged

Virtual Training

  • You, or any other party, do not have permission to record PP virtual sessions without gaining prior consent from me, Wade Edwell. You also do not have permission to use any image or recording related to Proper Pilates for promotional or social media purposes without gaining prior consent from me, Wade Edwell

  • To ensure you don’t waste time setting up for your lesson, I recommend downloading the necessary software (Zoom) and trialing the link prior to your appointment time. Using a camera phone is fine but using a laptop will allow you to also see more of your training mates online at the same time

  • Make sure you position your camera to cover a side or angular view of whatever apparatus you’re working on. This gives me the best view of your practice

  • Ensure you don’t have too much background noise, as well as test your microphone and camera prior to your scheduled appointment

  • To calculate time differences when you’re booking appointments from another time zone, see this website for assistance

  • You are responsible for ensuring that you do not miss sessions mistakenly by not accounting for time differences when taking the lesson in another time zone. I do not offer credits or refunds in these circumstances

In the event of Internet outages:

  • If your internet drops out during a session I’m not liable to offer you a refund or make up appointment

  • If my internet drops out during a private lesson in a manner which makes the session reasonably unfeasible I will credit you for the value of the session or offer a refund for the same value.

  • I do not offer credits or refunds for periods when my internet drops out during open studio sessions but you may make up the session at any time at a later date
